About Luis

Luis A. Colón Jr is a living testament to the power of redemption. Once deeply involved in gang life, he served 14 years on a 28-year sentence—a reality that could have defined his future. But in the darkest place, he found the greatest light.

Behind prison walls, Luis encountered God in a way that transformed his heart, mind, and purpose. No longer bound by his past, he dedicated himself to studying Scripture, leading worship, and mentoring fellow inmates, becoming a symbol of hope and faith within the prison system.
As Luis grew spiritually, he realized that the greatest prison wasn’t made of steel and concrete, but of the mind and soul. Inspired by this revelation, he founded Compound for Christ, a ministry built on the idea that while many are physically or mentally imprisoned, true freedom is found in Jesus Christ. Just as a prison compound holds people captive, sin, fear, and past mistakes can imprison the soul—but Christ is the key to breaking free.

Today, Luis is an author, speaker, and mentor, using his story to reach those who feel lost, hopeless, or trapped by their past. He is passionate about helping others discover that no matter what they’ve done or where they’ve been, God’s grace is greater. Now a devoted husband and leader, Luis continues to share his testimony, proving that transformation is possible for anyone willing to surrender to God’s plan. His mission is clear—to show the world that true freedom isn’t just about walking out of a prison cell, but about walking into a new life with Christ.
